The Boss—of Men’s Fashion And Everything Else

I agree with you wholeheartedly.  I like to have one thing in my outfit that has some color, pattern or texture; something to suggest a little forethought or imagination!  I also like to mix up the more formal with the casual.  I have a chocolate brown velvet sport coat that I love to wear with jeans.  I also have a pair of eggplant colored, straight leg jeans that I love to wear with a beat up denim jacket.  I think I got both of these at Nordstrom Rack.  Style doesn’t have to be expensive.

Thank you for this about men. It’s so true - it really doesn’t take that much to give your look a little panache. Even just a fun pocket square…a bow tie or a hat.

Can’t say I like the classic rock star look…but ooh Tom Ford!!

Yep, I mentioned tweed.  A great choice, always classic.  Bring on the tweed, gentlemen!

When I lived in London, I could always spot the American tourists.  Dressed exactly as you described—and LOUD!  Dressing nicely, even casual nice, requires thought and effort—the antithesis of what most American men want to do when they’re feeling ‘free’ to be themselves.
