Fun night out tonight with some of my favorite media peeps— Dara Bunjon, Randi Rom, Diane Macklin and Celeste Corsaro— for a dinner at Sotto Sopra. First up: a perfectly mixed sazerac. Then, chef Riccardo Bosio personally delivered all of our food to the table— platter after platter of fabulous stuff— fried polenta in caper aioli, Prince Edward Island mussels in a tasty broth, seared polenta with poached egg, shaved fennel prosciutto and parmesan, warm octopus with arugula, capers, potatoes and lemon dressing, halibut ceviche, veal chops, grilled ribeye steaks with herb butter and truffled fries, the list goes on. I barely had room for the sampler of four homemade ice creams (the olive oil ice cream was my favorite), and I actually had to pass on the chocolate cake and the tiramisu! Riccardo joined us at the table for most of the evening and it turned into quite a raucous night. Several hours later, I headed out and met some friends around the corner at the Midtown Yacht Club, where the televised O’s game went into 13 innings before the hometown boys won it 11-10.
