The “Assateague Island National Seashore Foster Horse Program” mentioned in the article is managed by Assateague Coastal Trust(the organization founded by Judy Johnson).  Readers can learn more about how to “‘adopt” (No, you don’t get to take the horse home, but you do get a nice adoption package, newsletters and a great photo) by going to http://www.assateaguewildhorses.org.  It’s a wonderful program that raises thousands of dollars to support the horses and their barrier island habitat.  If the woman who saw “Chance” contacts us, we’ll send her a brand new picture of her foster horse.
