An Artful Space Creatrics
is where the region’s artistic types hang—literally. Specializing in works by Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania artists, the gallery features landscapes, still lifes, and marines in a multitude of media, as well as handmade crafts (ceramic vases, glass perfume vials, beaded and silver jewelry). Don’t miss the abstract, boldly colored oil paintings by Easton’s Joe Mayer. Stop by during Easton’s First Fridays, when the gallery stays open until 9 p.m. and serves hors d’oeuvres and champagne. 13 Goldsborough St. 410-822-7924 or http://www.creatrics.com.

A Chic Treats
If Lizzy Dee’s selection of cashmere sweaters, velvet jeans, and belted sweater coats don’t spin your wheels, there’s always owner Darcy Bernot’s selection of contemporary accessories: bling fit for a princess, oversized suede and patent leather handbags, and super-soft pashminas. Old Favorites
Check out the home décor items behind the fuchsia front door at Nina Ayres Lanham Antiques. A staple in the county’s antique scene since 1968, the store stocks high-end pieces bought from local estates as well France and London. Amid the household items (lamps, mirrors, paintings) are costume jewelry and “dried” silk flowers. The European-style wooden frames in all shapes and sizes are perfect for any picture—and well priced, too. 23 N. Harrison St. 410-822-5040.

Bon Appetit
Come mealtime, we love Mason’s comfort food-heavy bar menu, starring a gourmet version of meatloaf and mashed potatoes and the classic steak frites. Want to make your shopping outing really decadent? Opt for a glass of champagne to go with one of the fine homemade desserts or a sampling of chocolates from the gourmet shop in the rear of the restaurant. Not even Jenny Craig herself could resist one of those dark-chocolate-covered marshmallows. 22 S. Harrison St. 410-822-3204.

Hunting for Fashion
Albright’s at The Tidewater is a find for the modern-day huntress, stocking ultra-conservative threads from Beretta, Barbour, and Orvis. (Guys can head across the street to its brother store, Albright’s Gun Shop, for matching fashions.) We dug the quilted Barbour vests and fleece-lined
jackets, classic additions to any wintertime wardrobe—even if our hunting is only for the next fashion find. 101 E. Dover St. 410-822-8994.

Tie One On
This is as classic as it gets, guys. Berrier specializes in “updated traditional” clothing for the conservative-minded man who craves corduroy jackets, argyle sweaters, and pinstripe suits. If only we could get dear ol’ Dad out of his rep tie rut and into those fashion-forward, boldly colored beauties by Robert Talbott. 7 E. Dover St. 410-819-0657 or http://www.berriermenswear.com.
