You Don’t Have to Love Wine to Love The Wineaux Shop

I can’t take my eyes off it.
The blue and gold and glittery handbag in the shape of the Eiffel Tower sits on a shelf behind the register. It is outrageous. It is perfect. I want it.
I nonchalantly run my fingers over the dazzling 6,300 Swarovski Crystals embellishing this wearable work of art designed and signed by Beverly Hills hottie, Timmy Woods. I’m told there are only two in the world. The other one is in L.A.
Sex and the City fans know the lure. Sarah Jessica Parker wore this handbag in the movie’s first scene—a photo of SJP with THE bag rests on The Wineaux Shop’s counter. I’m ready to pull out the plastic until I hear the price: $3,200.
I try to act cool as I nonchalantly tuck my Amex back into my pocket. A version sans crystals is available for $450 via special order but for me, this purse has my heart.
I snap back to reality and ask Angela Cox, Owner and Sommelier of this new Main Street establishment, what’s a fancy handbag doing in a place like this? Isn’t this shop for wine lovers, anyway?
She says the store celebrates all the good things in life—travel, entertaining and unique accessories, just for fun.
Stylish, sensible and much more affordable gifts include a red ceramic Brie Baker ($24) smartly packaged in a faux-wood box that resembles a traditional Brie cheese wheel and comes with a bamboo spreader.
One-of-a-kind birdhouses made by a local artist out of recycled wine crates can be used indoors (just ’cause they’re pretty) or outdoors to feed our feathered friends. No two houses are alike. (from $28)
Of course there are plenty of cutesy wine glasses in the place with pink crabs or sandals adorning them and lots of wine charms made by a local gal. All-natural soaps from The Napa Soap Company make great hostess gifts. Try the Fig and Zinfandel bar ($8) and you may never bathe with the grocery store variety ever again.
