Fashionista Finds
I’m cruising TJ Maxx on Riva Road (a great place for jog bras for less than twenty bucks and running outfits that are not much more) when racks of top designer clothes and a few gorgeous handbags catch my eye.
At first I can’t believe it. Super high-end designer labels at TJ Maxx??? I thought the decimal point was in the wrong place on a chiffon Christian Dior top priced at $999!!! (Originally $2,000) Or on a stunning Valentino gown for $899.
Mega-star designers include Bagley Mischka, Dolce & Gabbano and Emilio Pucci—a classic Pucci print dress is a bargain at $399.
But it’s the designer handbags that get me seriously drooling, especially a Carlos Falchi red and black python tote priced at $799. A big savings from the regular price of $1890 but still an ‘ouch.’ A sumptuous silver leather Versace handbag priced at $799 is another heartbreaker.
The Runway is a new department only at the Annapolis TJ Maxx. The company has 48 of them around the country but this is the only Runway in the entire state of Maryland. With this merchandise in town, Annapolis could easily become the style capital of the state.
Cheaper Cuts
Tired of paying $80+ for haircuts at pricey salons? Me too.
Over the past three months I tried cheaper alternatives and got what I paid for. But last week I hit a winner. The new Hair Cuttery at Annapolis Towne Center has several master stylists on staff. Who knew? My stylist, Marie, gave me a great cut that set me back just $25 plus tip. The best part is, I like it better than haircuts I received at fancy places where I paid four times the price! Hmm. with the money I’m saving on haircuts I just may snap up that Carlos Falchi handbag!
