A boutique for wine?

Never thought I’d think of a wine store as classy, hip and fun to browse but Bin 201 at Annapolis Towne Center is all three.
Let’s start with ambiance. Each time I stop by a Nora Jones song or moody Caribbean tune plays overhead, luring me to linger. And I stop by often. It’s so easy to make a slight detour en route to Whole Foods—Bin 201 is across the street.
The place simply has a good ‘feel.’ Handsome wooden shelves and tables display bargain wines, pricier collectible selections and vino from small, little-known boutique vintners.
Another nice touch—prices are clearly marked in oversized type so I don’t have to squint to read ‘em. And, there are plenty of choices that don’t wreck my budget.
This place nails every detail. Every purchase get wrapped in light brown tissue and tucked into a trendy bag making even a $10 hostess gift look good.
The only thing Bin 201 seems to lack is a wine snobby sales team. All my unsophisticated questions receive answers I can actually understand from a young, willing attendant eager to help.
Wine tastings, wine classes and a wine club offer lots of ways to learn more about wine and save money, too.
I’ll drink to that.
