Makes 20 servings
3 cups boiling water
1 stick of butter
2 cups yellow cornmeal
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
Boil water and add butter to melt. In a separate bowl, mix cornmeal, sugar, flour, and salt. Add water/butter mixture to dry ingredients. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well. Slowly add milk and beat until smooth. Pour batter into a well-greased 13-by-9-by-2-inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 11/2 hours. Cool slightly before cutting.
