What I neglected to discuss in the first posting of this book was why it was so exceptional, beyond the animal-human bond. This memoir was so visually written and without an excess of words and descriptives. As I read it I could feel myself in the barn or in the pasture, smell the horses, etc. Anyone that has ridden has likely been in all of the locations the author includes making it that much easier to truly experience the book with all senses - and a box of kleenex!
