Dog Walking

There are some activities that you do with your dog that seem like work or just another responsibility of being a pet owner but when it comes to walking my dogs it’s therapy.  Besides the fresh air and natural light that always lift my spirits it’s great to be outside with your dogs - everybody is happy and doing something healthy.  I can be tired and not really interested in walking the dogs but my youngest Ryder always tells me when it’s time to go - people say dogs don’t know time but my dogs know my after work or Saturday routine down to the second.  When I change out of my work clothes they are in my closet with me watching and sniffing the clothes I put on - a good sign for them if it’s sweats!  Then they barrel down the stairs and wait at the door (they’ve been in and out all day using their doggie door but that’s just the backyard!) then once out in the garage they pause long enough for me to almost trip over them to make sure I’m getting there leashes - if no leashes we’re either going to get the mail or feed the birds. They are so on to me!  I can’t stand to disappoint them so we go out for our daily journey - sniffing, marking and playing with their neighborhood canine friends.  We all come home refreshed, exercised and in good spirits - and it costs nothing but time!  Is there really anything better?
